Mother’s Lounge
Yay! You booked your Motherhood Mini Session! I’m so excited to be able to capture some beautiful images of you and your children.
But first….
Grab your favorite drink and hang out for a bit.
Here you’ll find some tips on what to expect for your session, your portrait agreement and a quick questionnaire.
What to expect during the session
Session atmosphere: My goal is to create a relaxed environment where genuine moments between you and your children can unfold naturally.
Session flow: We’ll begin with simple poses to help you acclimate to the camera, gradually moving towards more candid interactions.
Expectations of you and your children: During our session, I want you to focus on snuggling and loving on your little ones. There’s no pressure for them to sit still or smile perfectly at the camera. Instead, I’ll be guiding you to smile at them, soak in the moment, and enjoy this time together, because the most beautiful photos come from genuine connection and love.
What to wear
Comfort is Key: Choose outfits that make you feel comfortable and confident. Soft, breathable fabrics allow for natural movement and ease during the session.
Color Palette: Opt for neutral or soft pastel colors, such as creams, light blues, or blush tones. These shades create a timeless and elegant look, keeping the focus on the connection between you and your children.
Avoid Distracting Patterns: Steer clear of clothing with bold patterns, logos, or characters, as they can divert attention from the intimate moments we’re capturing.
Textures and Layers: Incorporate textures like lace, knits, or subtle embroidery to add depth to your photos.
Footwear: Barefoot is often preferred in studio sessions for a more natural and intimate feel. If you choose to wear shoes, select simple and comfortable options.
Hair and Makeup: Aim for a natural look that reflects your everyday style. Soft curls or a simple updo, along with light makeup, enhance your features without overshadowing your natural beauty.
Additional Tips
Rest and Nourishment: Ensure both you and your child(ren) are well-rested and have had a light meal or snack before the session to keep energy levels up.
Bribing: I’m not one to say no to a harmless bribe, especially for kiddos that might need some enticing to cooperate. Fruit gummies and yogurt melts are a great, no mess option.
Arrival Time: Plan to arrive a few minutes early to allow time for any final preparations and to settle in comfortably. You can send me a text when you park to let me know you’re here.
Communication: I’m available any time if you have other questions! Shoot me a text or give me a call at 949-751-2111.
Looking forward to our session! Let me know if you have any other questions.
I’ll be reaching out again about 3-5 days before our session to remind you about our session and to see if there’s any last minute questions. Can’t wait!
